Music, Movement and Me (age 3 - 5)
Tues 10:30 – 11:30 am (1 hr/week)
Fall Session 9/16 – 11/18 (10 weeks)
Instructor: Mary Lee Slemmer

Class Description: Join us in exploring music and movement to discover various ways of self-expression through the use of rhythm instruments, props, and music of different styles and traditions. Our preschoolers will work collaboratively to explore creative movement and use the body to make musical sounds such as clapping, stamping, tapping, and snapping. Instruments, musical games, and songs will expose the children to musical elements such as pitch, beat, duration, dynamics, and listening skills. Parents/caregivers should be prepared to stay if your child needs additional support during a class. All parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend the last 15 minutes of class to share this developing appreciation for self-expression through the arts. This class is appropriate for new students and those who are returning for multiple sessions.

Class Description: Using some of our favorite storybook friends, preschoolers will explore beginning basic acting concepts in a supportive and familiar environment. Children will enjoy developing different characters through “make pretend” in a highly collaborative environment that encourages creative play, imagination, social interaction, and listening skills. Parents/caregivers should be prepared to stay if your child needs additional support during a class. All parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend the last 15 minutes of class to share this developing appreciation for self-expression through the arts. This class is appropriate for new students and those who are returning for multiple sessions.
