Adult Auditions

The Wiz- the Fantastical and Funky Musical Extravaganza! 
The newest musical version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.
Music and Lyrics by Charlie Smalls, Book by William F. Brown.
The Wiz is presented through special arrangements with Samuel French, Inc., New York NY 
Performances: June 4 – 21, 2009 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings; Sunday matinees)  

Audition Dates/Times:  

• January 4 (Sunday) -  6:00 to 9:00 pm

• January 8 (Thursday) – 7:00 to 10:00 pm

• January 10 (Saturday) – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

• January 11 (Sunday) – 6:00 to 10:00 pm (callbacks)

• January 13 (Tuesday) – 7:00 to 10:00 pm (callbacks)

Audition Appointments Preferred; Walk-ins Welcome. Contact rebecca@villageproductions.org or call 610.970.1199 for an audition appointment. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to complete an audition application and bring your CALENDAR to note rehearsal conflicts on your audition sheet. 

Audition Preparation: Auditions will consist of vocal and dance auditions, and cold readings from the script. Please prepare 16 bars of a ballad and 16 bars of an up-tempo number, and bring a copy of your sheet music for the accompanist. This production of The Wiz will focus on hip-hop style of dancing. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move. 

Rehearsals/Performances: Rehearsals begin in mid-March and will be flexible based on cast availability (generally Sunday afternoons or evenings, and 1 or 2 weeknights per week, depending on the role). Performances are June 4 – 21, 2009 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings; Sunday matinees).

Casting Needs (ALL ROLES ARE OPEN): Village Productions/Tri-PAC is seeking actor/vocalists and dancers who are comfortable learning music and dance within the hip-hop, jazz, rock, and gospel styles. Ethnic diversity is encouraged! Please note: all roles are nonunion and unpaid. Roles include:
