About Lettice and Lovage

As if history isn't exciting enough, two British women decide to "improve" upon the facts. Lettice and Lovage follows the antics of Lettice Douffet, a flamboyant and eccentric tour guide at a Tudor mansion, and her straight-laced ex-employer Charlotte “Lotte” Schoen. With a shared love for the aesthetics of the past and mutual disdain for the dullness of the present, the two forge an unlikely friendship as they decide to "spice up" some of Britain’s most memorable historic moments, with near fatal results! A funny farce looking at two kindred spirits in the modern world trapped by their imaginations, Lettice and Lotte make a formidable team dedicated to their crusade of “Enlarge, Enliven and Enlighten! A great play for the whole family, this Tony Award winning comedy by Peter Schaffer (Amadeus, The Royal Hunt of the Sun) is sharp, witty and elegant!
